I've had a book in me for a while, and this one just seemed to develop. I wanted to write a story that focused on the Celtic traditions of my family while exploring the developing Steampunk genre. As sections become polished enough for other people's eyes, I'll post them here.
Jonathan is a young orphan being raised by the Lord of Toby's End. His solitary life of scientific exploration is distrupted by Sean Williams, a captain of the once great Empire before it's fall. He is then lead through battles after battles before discovering the work of his late father, Tobias Windsul, the Crown Prince of the Windsul Empire. The journey then leads him against former friends as he works to defend the peace that has been tentatively enjoyed by the remnants of the Empire, and is complicated by the introduction of a beautiful young herbalist: Samantha. Narrow escapes, harrowing rescues, and giant airships mark an adventure for Jonathan and his companions.
The novel will be roughly 60,000 words when completed.
